Ayudh: Rebirth Issue 1 (Holy Cow Entertainment)

When I received my copy of Ayudh: Rebirth last week, I was expecting standard character relaunch fare from Holy Cow Entertainment. Being the completionist I am, I even re-read Operation Decay first—and reminded myself how much I missed HCE’s answer to John Constantine after his heroic sacrifice.
​Turns out, Rebirth delivers in spades:
​Pacing: Fast, gripping, and unfolding in pure real-time action with zero sluggish flashbacks. Ashwin Kalmane and Sudeep Menon make a fantastic co-writing team.
​Visual Storytelling: A rare Indian comic book where the sequential art carries the narrative. Dialogue is kept minimal, letting the visuals do the heavy lifting without missing a beat.
​The Standout: While the co-writers, Mandar’s crisp lettering, and Pressy’s contribution are stellar, this book belongs to Abinash Ghosh. Handling pencils, inks, and colors, his artwork has grown exponentially. Very few artists can turn raw, gory action frames into absolute eye candy like he does.
​As expected from Vivek Goel and the HCE team, it ends on a brutal cliffhanger that leaves you desperate for the next issue. Outstanding work all around!
